The Raclin-Murphy Museum of Art at the University of Notre Dame features a stunning entry rotunda. This higher education art museum is open to the public and hosts field trips for local schools, as well as offering exhibits throughout the year for the general public and surrounding communities to enjoy.
What specific measures do you or your team implement to ensure this space meets the highest standards of cleanliness and embodies the value of clean?
The building stands out with its unique architecture and refined finishes throughout. The custodial team follows a detailed Job Area Description (JAD), which outlines their daily tasks by hour and area.
The terrazzo floors are meticulously maintained using a diamond pad process, including daily dust mopping, scrubbing, and burnishing. Additionally, the floors receive annual recoating and polishing to keep them pristine, even though the challenges of winter snow and salt.
Faculty and staff can focus on their work without being distracted by an untidy facility. Visitors, guest speakers, Potawatomi musicians, and others who come to the museum can appreciate the beautiful, well-maintained environment.
The cleaning staff also enjoy the constant compliments they receive and take pride in knowing they contribute to creating such a positive space.

- Lights are on motion detector sensors
- Rooms are sensitive to humidity levels
