Georgia-Pacific to Invest $80M in Alabama Production Facility

Georgia-Pacific LLC, parent company of GP PRO, announced plans to invest more than US$34 million in its GP Cellulose Alabama River mill near Monroeville, Alabama.

The expansion project will increase the facility’s ability to produce fluff pulp as well as upgrade the plant’s infrastructure and logistics. Fluff pulp is used in a variety of hygienic disposable products, including nonwovens, feminine hygiene products, and diapers. Georgia-Pacific anticipates the enhancements will be completed by late 2023.
