ISSA Announces Inaugural State Advocacy Leaders
ISSA is proud to announce its first State Advocacy Leaders (SALs). The association launched this “grass-tops” program in January 2024 to grow and strengthen its government-affairs efforts.
“We’re excited to engage even more ISSA members from across the cleaning industry and across the United States in advocacy by activating this new initiative,” said ISSA Senior Government Affairs Manager Stacy Seiden. “State Advocacy Leaders will serve as ISSA’s ‘boots on the ground’ to further impact state and federal legislation important to our industry. And with the current gridlock in Congress, it’s even more important for our members and industry to engage at the state level and on state issues.”
Following are the 16 inaugural ISSA State Advocacy Leaders. SALs must be ISSA members in good standing in the United States, who have demonstrated a strong interest in advocating for the cleaning industry.
- Jody Carroll, CEO, PowerX3 Property Maintenance Services (Pennsylvania)
- Stacey Conkle, Founder & CEO, A Beautiful Day Cleaning (Arkansas)
- Heather East, Director of Marketing & Communications, Grand Rapids Building Services (Michigan)

“ISSA congratulates our new State Advocacy Leaders,” said ISSA Director of Government Affairs John Nothdurft. “Our longer-term goal is to secure two State Advocacy Leaders for each state—a manufacturer or distributor representative and a cleaning service professional. We thank this inaugural group of leaders for helping us launch this new advocacy endeavor.”
