ISSA Advocacy Fund Launches Annual Campaign
As our nation prepares to celebrate Independence Day, the ISSA Advocacy Fund (IAF) is launching its second annual fundraising campaign. As the only trade association representing the entire cleaning supply chain, we intend to use the IAF to build on our important advocacy work on behalf of the cleaning industry. Contributions in any amount are welcome; benefits start at US$50.
In 2020, ISSA created the IAF to build on the success of its government affairs efforts. Since then, the association has effectively advocated, influenced, and made an impact during the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond.
“As a result of the support the ISSA Advocacy Fund has received from member companies and our corresponding advocacy efforts, the cleaning industry now has a ‘seat at the table,’” said ISSA Director of Government Affairs John Nothdurft. “We thank the nearly 60 and growing fund contributors for all they do to demonstrate the value of clean and change the way the world views cleaning.” See the 2021-2022 IAF Impact Report.
In 2022-2023, ISSA Government Affairs will focus on the following key issues impacting the cleaning industry:
- Labor shortages
- Supply chain challenges
- Small-business support, such as reinstatement of the Employee Retention Tax Credit
- Leading a Healthy Workplaces Coalition to lobby Congress for healthy workplace legislation
- U.S. Environmental Protection Agency issues (reauthorization of the Pesticide Registration Improvement Extension Act, ingredient disclosure, chemical regulations, etc.)
- Sustainability
For a limited time and while supplies last, those who contribute $50 or more to the IAF will receive an exclusive “I’m An Advocate For Clean” button/magnet to proudly wear and display.
“Every contribution to the IAF will directly support the targeted grassroots advocacy, direct lobbying, issue education, coalition building, targeted public relations, research, and legal activities necessary to move our essential industry forward,” continued John Nothdurft.
IAF contributions are not tax-deductible and will not be used to support candidates for political office or political parties. The fund accepts contributions from individuals, corporations, and political action committees in unlimited amounts.
