Aramark Commits to Cutting Greenhouse Gas Emissions

Aramark has signed onto the World Resources Institute’s (WRI) Cool Food Pledge.

In signing the pledge, Aramark has officially committed to reducing the greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions associated with the food it serves in the U.S. by 25% by 2030. Aramark is the first contract catering provider in the U.S. to commit to the WRI’s pledge. The company previously promised to become a net zero carbon organization by 2050.

“Partnering with WRI on the Cool Food Pledge will help us slash our food-related greenhouse gas emissions, while substantially expanding the availability of Cool Food Meals,” said Alan Horowitz, Aramark vice president of sustainability. “This will make it easier for more of our guests to make climate-friendly and plant-forward meal choices, which according to our research, is what they increasingly want.”
