Price of Menstrual Products Increasing

What it means: In recent years, the average price for period products such as pads and tampons has surged. While these prices have caught many off guard, they’ve also led to a decrease in sales of period products.
Why it matters: One factor contributing to the increase in prices is the “tampon tax.” As of May 2024, 20 states charge sales tax on period products, ranging from 4% to 7%.
