Georgia-Pacific Factory Achieves Energy Star Certification

Georgia-Pacific LLC, parent company of GP PRO, announced its Big Island production facility in Bedford County, Virginia, has been recognized as an Energy Star Facility by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

Energy Star-certified manufacturing facilities are verified to be among the most energy efficient plants in their respective industries. This marks the third Georgia-Pacific facility to earn Energy Star designation this year, joining the company’s factories in Brewton, Alabama, and New Augusta, Mississippi.

“We’re very proud of the team in earning the EPA’s Energy Star® certification,” said Eldon Brammer, vice president and general manager of Georgia-Pacific’s Big Island plant. “We recognize the importance of starting with renewable materials, utilizing recycled materials, minimizing waste in our operations, and improving our efficiency and environmental performance. We’re glad to see the EPA recognize these efforts.”
